| Name: Hasegawa Tsubaki Age: 130 years old. Visual Age: Around 20 Years since Entrance into the Gotei 13: 100 Gender: Female Division: 11 Rank: Lieutenant Appearance: Hasegawa reaches about 165 cm in the air, while carrying her lithe body with grace and often appears even taller because of her confident attitude. Lowering her head is not something she usually does, unless around those that are her superiors. She weighs around 40 kg, but has every strength that a lieutenant would need as she practices hard ever day. Her curves don't give anyone after, and she can proudly call herself a very attractive female. Some might though call the young looking lieutenant a somewhat of a tomboy, as she usually never wears too girly outfits and swears like the worst sailor. Her hair is blue and thick, with a purplish shade to it in some lighting so that it seems to constantly change shades. It reaches down to her knees in a wavy and yet smooth form, that many wish to run their fingers through at first sight, while it's cut shorter above her brows and above her ears, so that bangs fall free down there and frame her face in a charming way. She usually has her hair up in a high pony tail so that it wont disturb her when doing her daily routines, or when training. Above her right ear, secured in her hair, she usually has a blue rose. Her hair is Hasegawa's pride, and probably one of the few things some could call "girly" about her. Hasegawa has a beautiful, pale skinned and smooth face with full, pink lips that are always ready with a comeback at anyone. Only her captain gets to see her most beautiful smiles that reveal a row of sparkling white teeth. While most others, and then mainly men, get a rather pinched look or a small smile in which lies a clear threat if they would dare get near her captain. Above her mouth is then her small, and petite nose which she usually wrinkles slightly when not amused. Her big, clear blue almond shaped eyes seem to challenge anyone that wishes to look at her, but they are always ready to seem humble when around the captains or anyone else that should be paid the respect according to rank. The blue color often gets an unusually clear and sparkling color to it as the young looking shinigami watches in admiration at her beloved captain. As her hair, it sometimes seems that the sky-blue color in her eyes get a slightly darker, purplish shade to them when in a darker environment. Her clothing consists almost always of the usual black shinigami outfit, but if she gets a day off she wears a yellow tank top and jean-shorts. On her feet she usually wears either white sneakers or light yellow sandals, and around her neck she has a black ribbon tied in a neat way. Hasegawa's appearance: - Spoiler:
Personality: Hasegawa would be described as somewhat of a man-hater, as she only has eyes for her female captain and never cares for being around anyone else... and then especially not males. She sees them as somewhat of competitors of her captain's attention, and as she often describes herself "They are just leechers that think with one thing, and that -thing- is in their pants.". She also hasn't forgotten deep down inside the betrayal which her brother experienced, even if her memories from her former life are blurry. Other females don't exactly get the same cold shoulder as the males, since Hasegawa does like other people's company. But if -anyone- be it female or male gets too close to her captain, then that person is considered an enemy. Whether it's from the experience of a soul piercing glare or a violent punch, then one can always know when Hasegawa has her anger set on them. Whenever Tsukihana Kirisame (the captain of division 11, and Hasegawa's captain) is around, Hasegawa literally shines and follows her around while ready to do anything for her. It seems though as if her captain is slightly ... dense about her lieutenants admiration, as she never gets why Hasegawa would get jealous or angry when others approach her. The captain looks at her lieutenant like a good friend, and someone that's really handy to use in doing the paperwork when the lazy side strikes. Even if Hasegawa does her best to act professional, and does her job very well as the lieutenant of the 11th division, then in truth she has a terrible temper and a violent side to go with that. If anyone does the mistake of making an innocent joke about her captain, or anything that has to do with her division, that person can be sure to have a chair flying in their direction not 15 seconds after that joke. Although the other squad members might sometimes complain about Hasegawa, after they have been retrieved from the hospital, then she always acts innocent and trusts that her captain will defend her against that "slander", which the dense captain of course does since she thinks Hasegawa is always as gentle and sweet around everybody like when she's around her. Her sharp tongue can make anyone cringe and want to either shake her and tell her to try and act a little bit more according to her gender and petite looks, or then simply flee the scene. She has yet to encounter someone that can withstand her lashing out and actually be able to answer her back. There is a lot of inner conflict going on inside Hasegawa's mind, as she likes to think more to herself than always say what's on her mind. (This will be lots of thinking in the rp with lots of descriptive smileys.) One of Hasegawa's habits might be described as very weird, but she likes to eat roses, or the petals of the flower. Yes... eat them. She likes working out, being somewhat energetic and to be able to watch her captain and be of her assistance. Her dislikes are males, deep water and spicy food Fighting Style: Hasegawa is a speedster, she relays much on her Shunpo along with the light build of her Zanpakuto. Some might have commented on it's petite appearance, wondering if it wasn't unhandy to have a shorter than normal Zanpakuto. But to Hasegawa it is important that her weapon is light and easy to handle. When she trains/fights she focuses on being able to strike the opponent down before he has a chance to counter, therefore she has to train hard in being able to land at least 2 strikes within 1 second while she also has to be careful not to let her own body slow down the Zanpakuto. This fighting style makes her defense naturally be weaker than others. Her appearance might fool some to think she was weak, but each of her attacks has a good power behind it, showing the results from her constant training. She does good with Kido's, but normally prefers to use physical attacks. Background: - Spoiler:
-----The Human World------ When she first came into the world, the young girl was embraced by her family. She was now the youngest child of 5, having 4 older brothers of the age of 16, 14, 11 and 3. Her parents had been waiting on getting a girl before they'd stop having children, and now finally their wish had come true. Tsubaki's father was the founder of a famous kendo dojo, and he trained all his children there daily except for his youngest daughter. As she reached the tender age of 8, it was impossible for the young mind to grasp why her father didn't want anything to do with her. She didn't know that he just wanted her to grow up as a fine young lady and only engage in the gentle hobbies of the other girls her age. Determined to get her father's acknowledge, she begged of her brother that was closest to her age to help her out. Reluctant at first, he couldn't though ignore the blue, begging eyes of his beautiful little sister. She was by now starting to look like a little princess, with her long and smooth blue hair, her big, sky blue eyes and fair face and features.
At her school she was very popular both by the boys and girls, but none of that made her happy. In her heart she longed for something more, for more strength instead of just being a doll. Her mother didn't understand why her young daugther's face grew more solemn as each day passed. Why her sad eyes stared at the dojo whenever her father was there. It was only during night in which her oldest brother, Shin, practised with her. He was very much surprised at how naturally she was able to grasp everything he and his brothers had struggled to grasp. Her stance, rhythm, thrusts, it was all as if she had been taught naught but that. She also carried her brother's secret with her, that young girl. Only she knew that Shin, the pride of the family and the heir to the dojo since he was the only one that seemed to be able to surpass their father's training, was not as normal in his nature as others thought he was. He had discovered at the age of 13 that he was gay, to his true fright. It had all been but an accident that Hasegawa had come to know, as she had seen him when she was 12 years old when he was having an argument with his lover.
Shin had always been her hero, and so she of course didn't tell anyone when her brother begged her to do so with tears in his eyes. To think that the tall, strong and almost painfully beatiful brother which shared the same eye and hair color as his youngest sister, was someone that hid such a dark secret. In that time it was very much frowned upon to think of such things. Knowing she shared such an important role as the only one who knew, Hasegawa had become even more determined to become strong so that she could protect her brother. She got along with her other 3 brothers, but they didn't bond as well with her like Shin did, as they had all left their home and gotten married when of that age.
The years passed, Hasegawa became 16 years old. She was a stunning beauty that made her family proud, for she was also very intelligent and was number 1 in the school studies. She behaved properly, did as her parents told her to do, and gave everyone a hollow smile which they believed was an earnest one. At night she became someone else though, as she was still training under her strict brother. But all that came to end abruptly when one day Hasegawa came home and heard yelling from the kitchen. As she entered the room, she saw her strong brother crying while he knelt on the floor as her father towered over him with somewhat of a disgusted look on his face while he raised his hand to give Shin yet another blow. "FATHER, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Her voice made them both look at her with a surprise before she felt a hand on her arm. "M-mother? Her mother's light blue eyes were filled with tears. "Hasegawa, you should just go to your room." "NO WAY!" Her outburst made the people around her completely shocked as the obedient Hasegawa had never once raised her voice in that house. "What is going on? Why are you beating Shin, father?"
Her father's face grew cold, yet sorrow was all that was seen in his dark blue eyes. "Your brother, is a disgrace to his family. He was seen hugging another man in an inappropriate way." Her heart came to a stop as fear crawled down her spine, leaving her feel frozen. This could not be. Her eyes flew over to her sobbing brother on the floor, knowing that his life depended on her words now. "Father, do you really believe whomever said that? Who was it that spread such scandal about my beloved brother?" If their father had expected his young daughter to have spilled out some secret in fear, then he was very much wrong. A small hesitation seemed to wash over him as he looked away, giving a clear hint that there was indeed a reason to not believe whatever the source that had given those information. I only pray Shin wont say anything yet.. "Father.. I have never lied to you nor my honorable mother. And I would not start doing that now. You both know that I spend much time with my brother, and we are almost inseperable. And yet I have not noticed anything of this behavior you are speaking of now. Can this not have just been a misunderstanding, or the poisonous tongue of a jealous person?"
Shin glanced in a surprise at his sister as she so very calmly lied straight in the face of their father. His heart felt heavy, and yet he glanced a small hope. Never had he thought his sister truly loved him so much to take this step. Their father looked like he had gotten slapped, as he left the room in a hurry, only to be followed by the weeping mother. Now being left alone, the siblings fell into each other's arms and cried silently, knowing that if the lie would get out now then neither of them would escape.
There was no need for waiting on that though, as just a week after this had happened, Hasegawa found her brother where he had committed suicide. Next to his body was a note with her name on, and while crying she had read it. Her beloved brother had gotten betrayed by his lover, making him feel desperate and also afraid that his secret would now come out in the open. He apologized to his sister, as he asked her not to hate him for being this weak. With sorrow in her heart, she had burned the note, being determined to never let anyone find out what had happened truly. Her family became cold now, her father seemed to disappear into a shell while her mother almost drove Hasegawa crazy with her affection towards her only daughter. But their daughter started to slowly change, soon after the funeral of Shin. She stopped smiling completely, started skipping school and hanging with the wrong people. No matter how much her father screamed, her mother cried dramatically... Hasegawa refused to become their little good girl again. She started loathing boys, remembering that it had been a male that destroyed her brother's life. And like that, 2 slow years passed.
The day Hasegawa died, was a day filled with rain. She had been hanging with her delinquent friends, a group that consisted mostly of girls, and they were racing on their motorcycles. Hasegawa, of course, had demanded to be let drive one of the motorcycles and she was speeding down the road, driving the vehicle as fast as it could possibly go while not giving a single care to the rain and wind that blinded her and made the road slippery. Her mind was as always, clouded by anger and sadness towards her family. She was now beyond the point of caring if the things she did were dangerous, and so she sped the motorcycle up even more just before she came to a small hill. Her breath caught in her throat, her blue eyes went wide and her heart skipped a few beats, as while she came over the hill she saw in front of her a car that had gone partway off the road. It was -right- in her way. Is this...it? Closing her eyes, she pulled to the side, while knowing she was going too fast. The people that were there, surrounding the car, barely had time to notice the motorcycle before they saw it swing to the side just in time before it hit the rear end of the car. It started sliding, moving violently from side to side before it toppled over and threw Hasegawa in the air. Everything happened so fast, and yet for her it felt like she had been in the air for at least 2 minutes before her body slammed down into the road. Searing pain entered her head, she could feel her right arm snap, there was a crashing sound, scream...then everything went black.
The cops that had been helping out the people that had been in the car ran towards where the petite body lay on the road, completely still. The helmet was broken to pieces, her long blue hair lay smeared in blood and water against the ground. Her whole body was twisted in a gruesome way, while her head lay to the side in way that showed clearly that her neck had snapped.
She wandered around the same place in which she had died for a few years, always feeling drawn back to that same spot with sadness and regret in her heart. But one day, a shinigami appeared in front of her and with a few gentle words she was sent to Soul Society so that she could start her new "life" there.
------ In Soul Society ------
She had felt bored, it was as simple as that. It was also somewhat hard for the girl that had not yet accepted her death to fit into this new world. There was no one that she saw which seemed to understand this struggling of hers. Hasegawa had also been wanting to keep up the training she had once received from the dojo, so the blue haired girl had wandered around aimlessly for a few years, always felt though drawn towards that place where the captains and shinigamis lived and trained. Perhaps I should become one of those shinigamis. She had thought to herself, and then finally tried it out. Like always, it seemed like people were gonna be avoiding her. But when the time passed by, the girls at the academy were starting to like this blue haired and violent girl that beat up the men that were chasing them around. Every guy that was trying to be perverted got a -special- treatment from Hasegawa, that resulted in some hospital staying for that man.
After graduating from the academy, Hasegawa hadn't been sure what squad she should join. But one day she had seen a woman that was simply captivating. At first Hasegawa had just watched from distance, feeling somewhat surprised at her thoughts about this particular woman. And then one day she had heard that this was the captain of the 11th division. This is going to be my captain. I will see with my own eyes if she is as strong as she is beautiful. Although the determined girl wouldn't really consider herself a lesbian, then she seemed to have only eyes for that specific captain. She felt somewhat weird and uncomfortable when guys hit on her, and yet she didn't like any girls as anything more than just friends. So was it really a surprise if she was a little bewildered at her thoughts about Tsukihana Kirisame?
Hasegawa managed to get the name of her Zanpakuto after some struggling, and after that she was quick in climbing up the power-ladder. To her pleasant surprise she was accepted into the 11th division, and began now to work her way up fast and very quickly earned the friendship of her beloved captain along with getting the seat of the lieutenant.
