Name: Ito no Hougyo (Threads of Demise)
Appearance: Akutore’s powers manifest as a pair of silver bracelets when sealed, each one with a removable amethyst on top. When that cap is removed, ten foot-long pieces of black string are revealed, each one with flecks of gold and purple on them. If released, these threads fly out of the bangles and fuse with her fingers, one end of each thread fusing into her fingertips.
Ability: By using the ten master threads, Akutore can form hundreds or thousands of extra lengths, able to replenish themselves by using the latent reishi in the air. These threads can be reinforced by that same reishi, making them much harder to cut. Between these two basic abilities, the threads can be used quite well for offense or defense. While the master threads are visible, they are very, VERY difficult to see, only really able to be cut by luck on a strike or if the foe can figure out where they would come from for an attack.
Akutore can control the reishi in or on the lengths of string, but not any that hasn’t been absorbed. While her extra threads are relatively strong in separate attacks, if Akutore uses a master thread the power of that non-technique attack is doubled. For every master thread used, the power is raised even more, even if the bonus power is halved for every additional master thread. So it’d start at ten power, then one master makes it twenty, another makes it twenty-five, then twenty-seven, so on, so forth.
Techniques:
1: Sewing for Dummies: Akutore directs the threads, causing them to wrap around each other and coil up to form the basic shape of any type of weapon Akutore desires. As the shape is formed, reishi accumulates over the outer and inner walls of the shape and solidifies it so it takes on the durability of most Zanpakuto. She can use this weapon to enhance her other abilities. This weapon is always tied to one of the ten master threads, even when thrown. As such, should that master thread be cut off from the weapon, it will dissipate and leave that thread unusable for three turns.
Charge time: Instant, Duration: Four turns, Cooldown: Three turns
2: Charlotte's Web: Using two master threads, Akutore directs a large amount of the threads at her foe. These threads each seek to wrap around a portion of the foe and coat themselves further in reishi so as to make them impervious to attacks. From here, Akutore can attack the foe in a couple of ways, but the threads only last for two attacks.
Charge time: One turn, Duration: Two turns, Cooldown: Five turns
3: Tangled Skein: Five master threads are used in this technique, what Akutore considers to be her strongest one. Akutore condenses about ninety percent of her threads into five thin but long rods, each tied to one master thread and about as tall as a skyscraper. She directs these exceptionally long pillars to fall on the foe, one on each limb and one on the head, much like Gochutekkan. Once the foe is stuck in place by these pillars, they wrap around the foe’s whole body and slowly siphon out the reishi from them. This siphoned reishi reinforces the threads and as such does not increase Akutore's stamina. If the pillars touch the ground or a building, they stretch across that surface and cover it, trying to siphon out reishi.
Charge time: Two turns, Duration: Three turns once they latch on, no duration of them sitting around, Cooldown: Ten turns
