Pereza sighed deeply as the blows continued to pound down upon him. He opened his eyes slightly to see the three shinigami who had interrupted his nap in a town and were now whaling on him with their zanpakutos. Sparks flew as their blades skidded off Pereza's skin, yet the soul reapers kept on attacking.
Pereza had woken up cranky, and this was not improving his mood. It wasn't pain or anything; his hierro could easily deal with whatever these soul reapers could dish out. It was the incessant noise that irritated him. With a grunt, he grabbed two of the shinigami with each of his hands and threw them into the sky. Several moments later, they came falling back down, crashing into the two buildings alongside him. He watched as the third soul reaper, whom Pereza sensed to have reiatsu equal to that of a lieutenant, release his shikai, transforming his katana into an large mace with spikes. As the shinigami brought the huge weapon crashing down onto Pereza, the espada simply closed his eyes. The resulting shockwave sent a cloud of dust billowing into the air.
As the dust cloud dissipated, the humongous shikai slowly began to crack. The lieutenant looked on in shock as his zanpakuto broke apart into a thousand pieces, leaving Pereza with only a thin line of blood trickling down his face.
"Hmm, you actually got through my hierro for a split second. However..." Pereza looked down at the lieutenant, his eyes cold and hard. "No one disturbs my nap. Nobody." The lieutenant fled at the cold reiatsu Pereza was unleashing, but it was no good. Pereza's zanpakuto began to hover, and with no physical sign that Pereza was moving it, it shot at the escaping shinigami and ran him through.
Pereza brought his zanpakuto back, looked at the bloodstains on it, and sent it down to the nearby creek to wash it off. "I hope no one else bothers me." With that, Pereza wiped the small trickle of blood from the top of his head and went back to sleep.
