Something Random

He was fast. Instead of blocking the blow with her blade, Ayaka altered her plan to make it a trade-off. Her left arm kept moving, and at the same time, she twisted her body counter-clockwise. She would take the shoulder hit, but at the same time, she would rake the blade of her wakizashi across the underside of his arm, unless he pulled the hand away and aborted the attack (at which point the swipe would miss). However, Ayaka's other movements remained consistent. With a quick counter-clockwise turn, she would attempt a leg-sweep with her left leg, before hopping away off her right to put a bit of distance between them.

Natsu had underestimated her. Her sweep kick took him by surprise. Fighting normal humans and Hollows for so long had dulled his senses towards sweeps. As he was hit, however, he quickly let most of his reiatsu run to his arms so he could break the fall, and used them to throw himself backwards. He planned to land on his feet, but wasn't sure if the Shinigami would let him. He prepared himself to activate one of his techniques, Dominio, in case it was necessary.

"Hirameku, Raigesshirui!" As Ayaka rose from her sweep, her right hand slid along the length of the wakizashi, transforming it into her two-part weapon, with the ring in her left hand and the blade in her right. She completed her turn as Natsu launched himself away, then, utilizing the momentum she still had, Ayaka took hold of the chain of her weapon and whipped the blade forward in an upward arc, intending on bringing it down upon him where he landed. It was like a ball an chain, however the ball was instead a rather sharp dagger with an extra hooked blade on the side.

As Natsu was about to land he saw Ayaka release her Shikai. First a wakizashi, then a kind of rope dart... she's full of surprises he thought. He had to change his plan a bit.
First, he began moving his body, turning slightly in midair just before landing. He landed hard on his left leg, then used it to push himself forward. He changed the flow of reiatsu in his body again, making most of it flow towards his eyes and legs. With a "Velocidad" he charged towards the Shinigami, now with lower strength, but speed comparable to the Shunpo of an average Captain. He hoped the sudden hard step and increase in speed would allow him to dodge the weapon.
To compensate for the decrease in power he would have to change his movements to mostly rely on Piguaquan and other soft martial arts, so at first he planned on rushing into range of Ayaka and hit her with a palm strike using his right arm.

A brave and foolhardy individual, Ayaka did nothing to block the strike. Instead, with a flick of her hand, she brought the dagger on a return course. However, there was a bit of a twist. Because Natsu had charged in within the radius of the chain's length, Ayaka directed it so that the dagger arced around behind him, so that she could catch it in her left hand. If planned right, this would trap him against her, as she shortened the chain the whole while as well.

Her hope was that she coul either get him to abandon his attack, or become roped in with her, which would lessen the strength of his attack and tie him up, thus robbing him of his speed. At the same time, she muttered something under her breath, apparently speaking to her zanpakuto, but quiet enough that only she could hear.

Being someone who had been fighting for many years, Natsu was used to thinking quickly when faced with a weapon, but in this case he wouldn't attempt to plan out any escapes. To him, Ayaka had so far shown herself as a brave and honest fighter, and he respected that. As a way of showing this, he decided to make a trade in damage, unless she was to dodge him. He placed himself in a line near the motion of the dagger, giving an opening to hit him around his back. At the same time, he moved as fast as he could, placing all his weight and speed into the palm strike.

If all went well, he'd knock Ayaka off her feet, and possibly avoid taking too much damage. If all went wrong, he'd have to rely on his speed to make the most out of the time left he could have Velocidad activated.

The series of events would turn out to work exactly as Ayaka had planned. With the chain shrinking as the dagger arced back towards her, a last flick caused the blade to glance across his back as his palm connected with her center. At that ver moment, she caught the hilt of her dagger in her free hand, and the chain pulled tight against Natsu's back. This would lock them together, meaning either they would both land on the ground with Natsu on top, or Ayaka would be kept on her feet.

Despite the pain of the attack - there was probably a broken rib or two in there - Ayaka managed a grin and a laugh. It was nothing compared to the training she had received from her Captain. "Heh... Muryoku Nisuru Fouyou." Having implemented the technique earlier, it was ready for use the moment the chain touched Natsu's back. A powerful electric charge was sent down the short chain, a charge which would proceed to course through his body as well - likely much more painful than the mild cut he could have received earlier.

This fight is Fine, and it seems good on both parts. Ayaka can now post in actual RP, and Natsu. Computers own you.

As the current of electricity went through his body, Natsu barely stayed on his feet for a moment there - he tried shaking it off, but he was obviously groggy for a few moments. He pulled himself together, and looked the Shinigami straight in the eyes. "That... was quite a trick" he managed to say. He turned off his Velocidad to let his reiatsu run through his entire body evenly, hoping it would speed up the recovery after the shock. He then proceeded to pull off an old street fighting trick, trying to step on his opponents foot to get Ayakas attention away from sending more shocks through him, at least for a moment.

I'm not sure I'll last very long if she keeps electrocuting me he thought to himself. He started gathering more of his reiatsu, but he knew he wouldn't be able to pull off another technique for at least a moment there. Since soft martial arts required more swinging, large movements, he had to rule them out for the moment. He now planned on using hard martial arts, hoping to get either Dominio or Segador off soon.
