Name: Kurushimi [Suffering]
Kurushii Bakuro [Painful Revelation]
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance:Kurushimi takes on the general form of a child-like humanoid. It appears ethereal and glows a pure white while maintaining zero physical features (most notably, it has no face or hair).
A moderately sized dark hole is present on its stomach, serving as the source of multiple stygian-black chains that traverse along the body to key points, the spirit's outline warping and disintegrating at the areas the chains make contact.
One chain moves up and into a similar hole present in lieu of the spirit's right eye, while five other chains have had their ends attached the spirit's right arm -- one each at the shoulder, bicep, elbow, forearm, and palm -- through the brutal use of nails made of the same material.
Zanpakuto Spirit Personality:The spirit does not have much of an overarching personality. It responds and reacts to the feelings of those around it and contains enough self-awareness to differentiate itself from others, but it does not have feelings of its own beyond the sense of comfort and discomfort.
When in the presence of those in pain, the chain begins to act up and eats at the body of the spirit, causing it to writhe in pain of its own.
Release Phrase: "Impart, Kurushimi"
Family: Undetermined
Level: Bankai
Sealed Zanpakuto:In its sealed state, Kurushimi takes on the appearance of a wakizashi, its blade approximately fourteen inches in length. A strong black silk covers the hilt of the weapon, small white diamond patterns lain within the material in an orderly fashion.
- Spoiler:
Shikai:The shikai takes the form of a decently sized katana -- its blade at approximately twenty-eight inches in length -- with the same ornately designed hilt as seen in its sealed state. A thin white ribbon extends from the bottom of the sword's hilt.
Shikai Ability:Should the Katana's blade touch organic material, the organic material at the point of contact will harden, preventing the target from experiencing the sensation of pain at that point as well as preventing regeneration of the damaged area.
Note : Wounds inflicted by the katana neither hurt nor bleed (the damaged arteries and tissue are hardened due to the ability, effectively cauterizing them). Damage is still present as normal -- slicing into your heart would interfere with its function, even with the sword's inherent properties.
The effect is permanent until the release of Kurushimi's Bankai or the return to its sealed state.
Bankai: Upon beginning the release, a multitude of black chains extend from the guard, moving down the hilt before traveling up the entire length of the arm to the shoulder, their lengths twisted and bound tightly to the limb. A single chain continues past the shoulder, up along the side of his neck and face before attaching itself to the right temple. The sharpened edge of the katana's blade turns to the same black color as the chains while the white ribbon retracts into the hilt.
Bankai Release Phrase: Ryouta need only say "Bankai" followed by the full name of his weapon : Kurushii Bakuro. The katana must be held in a natural grip with the right hand.
Bankai Ability:=Ryouta is unable to experience the sensation of pain throughout his body.
=Ryouta's right arm, due to the influence of the chains, experiences rapid regeneration.
=Should the katana's black edge touch organic material, the organic material at the point of contact will begin to continuously (and painfully) corrode, as if in contact with a very potent acid. The effect is constant and prevents regeneration. The effect lasts until the bankai is released.
Note : The effect eats through the points of contact very slowly (nearly nonexistent) but does so very painfully and promotes necrosis. It deals very little actual damage on its own and acts more as a lasting source of pain for his basic attacks.
=The chains surrounding his arm influences the power he places in his swings to a great extent. While initially offering no increase in power, Ryouta's attacks become stronger in relation to the amount of suffering of those in his general vicinity.
Note : The recently deceased count towards this ability. However, the contribution they give towards Ryouta steadily (and quite rapidly) decreases over time (completely gone within two posts of their death).
