Appearance: A tall muscular man, standing at 6 feet, 6 inches, Yakihiko Shakari looks imposing. With glaring, light blue eyes, and spiked black hair, his body just sends the message "don't bother me". with seemingly no facial hair, he seems younger than he is. many scars cover his body, adding to his dangerous look. he Wears a standard shinigami uniform, with a red and black headband.
Personality: Trying to avoid interaction has always worked for Yakihiko, so thats what he does. This is due to the fact that he is usually mean when he talks, so to avoid scaring people, he avoids talking as much as possible. he is slightly arrogant, has a short temper, and likes to use voilence to settle things. he seems quite lazy, but once in battle, he seems energetic, and wont stop until he is dead or wins. once in battle, he seems to go a little crazy with bloodlust. when alone he is either practicing his battle skills, eating, or sleeping.
Fighting Style: with powerful ranged and melee, yakihiko's weakness is in his bodies slow speed. his attacks and reactions are fast, but he doesn't move fast. his fighting style changes drastically once he releases his zanpaktou. when his zanpaktou is not released, he prefers to allow his opponent to attack, block and make a counter attack while the person is still within range. once his zanpaktou is released though, he prefers to use the ranged attack of his sword, only as a last effort will he close for melee combat.

Yakihiko was born to Dante and Abigial Shkari, a couple who had just recently moved to japan. an only child, yakihiko was allowed to do whatever he wanted. this smiling chearful young boy made many friends at school, including his best friend andre dresden, a transfer student from the united states. until the age of 13 the boys were together, always playing with each other. then, on that fateful day, yakihiko and andre went to yakihiko's house. yakihiko and andre went into the kitchen to find his father and mother sitting at the table. as soon as they entered, yakihiko's father grabbed andre by the shirt and dragged him over to the wall, took out a pocket knife, and kille andre. yakihiko was told that andre's father was a serial killer, who used andre to kill little kids. after that day yakihiko never smiled again on earth. four days later he committed suicide, driven by the death of his best friend. He spent four more days on earht, running from hollows, before a soul reaper found him and sent him to soul society.
--In Soul Society--
In soul society, yakihiko continued to live in despair, until one day he saw a soul reaper. the soul reaper had a sword on his waist, and yakihiko was immediately interested. yakihiko started gathering information, and eventually got into the shinigami academy. he kept to himself whenever possible in the academy, and during his stay there, he developed a love for battle. only in battle did he smile now, showing his old personality. he eventually got the hang of basic kido, allowing him to graduate. shortly after graduating he joined the 11th squad, due to it's focus on combat. he eventually learned the name of his zanpaktou, and, after about nine years, became 3rd seat of squad 11.
