Backstory synopsis

These are basic summaries of what we expect to see in the backstory of your characters. Unless it is directly stated as being optional such as time alive for shinigami, hollows, and vizards, then it is a required part of the application.

Keep in mind that it is important to keep these parts balanced, we don't want to read 5 paragraphs on time in rukongai and two sentences about becoming a captain.

All backstories should be between 3 and 7 paragraphs. If you exceed seven paragraphs then it is the right of the staff to skip any optional pieces of your backstory. If there is no optional piece for us to skip then you may be asked to shorten the backstory. Remember this is a summary of existence, not a detailed novel.


For Shinigami -

Events of life culminating in your death. (Optional due to lack of memory when dead.)

Life in Rukongai.

Entrance into Soul Society and the Shinigami Academy.

Progression up the ranks.

For Arrancar -

Events of life culminating in your death. Leads to hollowfication. (Optional due to lack of memory when dead.)

Life as a demi-hollow.

Transformation into a menos grande.

Event which leads to Primera turning you into an arrancar.

Ascending through the ranks (Espada and Fraccion only.)

For Vizards -

Events of life culminating in your death. (Optional due to lack of memory when dead.)

Life in Rukongai.

Entrance into Soul Society and the Shinigami Academy.

Progression up the ranks.

Vizard maker discovers you and offers you power.

Entrance into the Vizard Organization (For Elite and Regular Vizards)
Current lifestyle as a free individual (For Vizard Rogues)

I will elaborate on this in one of my muses but would like to just add a quick note about creativity and "originality". Creativity is always nice in backstories but it is important to remember that you need to be creative within the framework of the format provided. Don't do something ridiculous just because you think it is more original.

Also your character does not need to be completely different and original from anything that has ever come before. You can even look at the canon series, while each captain has something interesting about them, only one of the 13 captains became a captain through an unusual way. The others all went through the same path to become captains and yet are all still unique. This is what I mean by being interesting within the framework we have provided.
