It was a regular day in the Soul Society. Nothing special in particular was going on. Maki was walking in the direction of the 10th division barracks after visiting the 11th division. After all, he used to be there. So nothing much changed in there after all. He entered the building of the 10th division. It was almost time to train. Heard there are some rookies in our squad. Hope they’re not idiots. He entered the proving ground where a group of Shinigami stood. “Alright now, stop arsing around and line up!” his voice thundered over the training grounds. “Ah, yes sir, captain!” there was a little panic but shortly all the Shinigami stood in a row. The only exception was the lieutenant, who was on the captain’s left. “Alright rooks, listen up. If you thought that the 10th squad was easy going, raise your hand and I will beat your brains into thinking otherwise. For you this is gonna be a tough as the 11th squad. You’re going to be toughened up, just like the 11th squad.” He started walking in front of them, exactly like a drill sergeant would. “There are a few rules in the 10th squad. No bailing out, no slacking off, no skipping training sessions, no getting drunk on duty, no fighting among each other, share your efforts with your team, respect those from other squads, don’t waste time on useless shit and finally…”he stopped “In battle, no one gets left behind. Is that clear?” “Sir, yes, sir!” As soon as he heard his replied he noticed a hell butterfly flying towards him. What now? It landed on his shoulder, stayed there for a moment and then left again. A captain’s meeting? At a time like this? He then turned to the rookies. “I have to leave for the captain’s meeting; the lieutenant will be taking over. And you do not wanna know what I’ll do to those who were slacking off.” And with that, he left for the meeting.
A few thoughts were going through his head as he was walking towards the 1st division. This is probably about the captains leaving to the real world. Let’s see, who was it again? Kaiser and I think that freak Kurokotsu. Are they already back? Wander what the hell they found in the real world that’s so bloody important to interrupt my training sessions. Yes, Maki always though that training his squad was amongst the most important things. It was at least among the top 3 things in his agenda. Also its because of this that the 10th squad has now recently been full of strong combatants that were able to take on members of the 11th division and be on par with them. Fortunately, in the 10th division, kido was not “banned” like it was in the 10th division. Maki accepted, and even somewhat encouraged the use of kido, but primarily focused on physical training and endurance. Right then…he was in front of the meeting room let’s see if this is even worth a damn.
