| Recently, profiles have contained extremely lengthy and detailed backstories about members' respective characters. While the staff members and I want members to describe their characters as best they can, we feel that some new rules are needed:
1) A background is a SUMMARY, not a novella. Please do not go into every single event in a person's life and/or afterlife, especially if it is meaningless. But it shouldn't only be several sentences either; just keep it relatively short and to the point.
2) The use of dialogue is not recommended. It does not add to the background and often times detracts from it. We would prefer if little to no dialogue was used.
3) Backgrounds should be in the past tense since they're...well, backgrounds. Using the present tense makes the character's stories confusing and hard to follow, as do the other problems listed above.
4) In addition read the site's backstory(https://bleach-awakening.forummotion.com/character-creation-f8/backstory-of-bleach-awakening-of-the-elder-ones-t38.htm). The reason for doing that is a simple one:
a)You may get ideas for your character's background.
b)You character's background MUST be tightly connected to the site's backstory. (For example,a hollow cannot become arrancar by merely getting hit by a cero or break it off by himself/herself; they must receive the help of the Primera who knows how to do so) | |
