Appearance: A well built man in his early twenties with blue eyes and black hair that is spiky and is moved back (so kinda like Vergil), but short. He wears the usual Shinigami uniform, but without sleeves, and both his arms are bandaged from wrist to shoulder. He also has a number of scars visible on his face and exposed parts of the torso. He is about 175 cm tall, not too fat and not too skinny.
Personality: Maki has a personality of a military superior. He is strict, expects results and does not care much for excuses. But he never looses control, never goes over the line when scolding somebody. He has high expectations of his squad and follows the “No one gets left behind” rule. Sometimes however, he does let himself slack off the discipline, and can sometimes talk n arrogant ways. He does have respect for the sotaicho as well as his fellow captains. In his free time, he either does the paperwork he had to do, or, and this is more common, trains with his squad.
Backstory: He never remembered his years in the living world, as a living person. He just knew he died too early. This he could tell by his own appearance. From this he assumed that in life he was too weak, and made a decision to become strong in death. He began physical training from day one. He would continuously train his strength and stamina in rukongai. Unfortunately for him, he was in a rather rough “neighborhood” and was beaten down every day. But even this he considered training, endurance training to be more specific. Sometimes he would almost be beaten to death and it was at one of those moments that a group of four people stood up for him. They had a lot in common with him except for one thing: they were stronger. Surprisingly however, they did not mock Maki for being weaker, but made it their duty to make him stronger. It became his goal to suppress all four of them and they accepted it. It was also from them that he learned how to wield a sword and several types of hand to hand combat. They also told him about the Shinigami academy, which they all wanted to attend. But and incident accured.
They were attacked by a hollow. And it was during their battle that they told Maki to run, and that they’ll catch up to him. And so he ran, as fast and as far as he could. However, he tripped and fell on his head. Loosing consciousness. He woke up, in the hands of a woman. She was a Shinigami and told him that he was safe. He asked about his friends, but she just shook he head. He was about to cry, but he controlled himself, just sedding a single tear. He asked her if he could join the Shinigami academy. From that day on, he vowed to never leave anyone behind.
In the Academy, Maki focused only on marshal arts, which gave him somewhat of a disadvantage. He did however, graduate after only four years, due to his very high results in the martial arts. Also because of this he was stationed in the eleventh division. He was said to have strong will and high reiatsu. People from other squad would always wonder why he never studied any sort of Kido what so ever. But he never bothered and continued the training. He learned his zanpakutou’s name ten years after entering the eleventh division, and from that was promoted to the seventh seated officer. Due to the next thirty years of military success, he was promoted to lieutenant. In the next fifty years he learnt his Bankai. Around the same time, the present captain of the 10th division was getting promoted and the current captain of the 11th division said that Maki was the best candidate for the replacement. Several years later he was promoted to the captain of the 10th division, where he is up till this day.
