What Role Did Isshin Kurosaki Play In Soul Society?

This is a very interesting question which i think has gone through everybodies mind. I think first he was the Captain of Squad 3 before Gin took over but then joined the Royal Guards or Squad 0.

Propably associated with Zero Squad,I think that he was the captain of the 11th division or just like you said,the 3rd.

I had a bizzare idea. I think he was one of the member of the Shiba family before it was kicked out of the royal families. It would make sense since captains often have come from the royal families and it also would explain why the Shibas were kicked out in the first place, their leader ran away from Soul Society because he fell in love with a human.

Also would explain why Ichigo and Kaien look so similar.

And if Kukaku knew all of that, it would explain why she treats Ichigo much like she does Ganju.

I think that if there's really a royal guard in gotei 13 spying things out, it surely must be Unohana, she is older than Shunsui and Ukitake in Gotei 13, the 2 great pair os students of Yama.
