The Assault

Motaro was unfazed by the girls attempt to irritate him. Compared to the stuff he usually had to deal with, having someone say they were more evolved was not even worth noting. And he considered being uptight to be a compliment. After all, he dealt with much worse stuff while working as a CEO. There are the people trying to screw me over, lazy workers, stupid critics who just don't like the fact that my company is so powerful, and of course the stockholders who never shut up. I think even the weather sometimes hates me when it rains on event days, and of course traffic has had something against me for years. And there are...

He blinked as he focused on the issue at hand. He almost got lost in his irritations again. He opened his mouth to speak when suddenly the other Superhuman suddenly ran up to the girl and introduced themselves.

"Ah Overseers? Explains the strength you two boast." Motaro said looking from one to the other. "And I don't mind about her choice of words. Things like that don't bother me. My name is Motaro Shisoku and as you have guessed, I am indeed a Quincy." He made a small bow to the two humans.

"So do you both reside in this fair town? Or are you here on business?"

"I don't know about the hulking idiot over there, but I live here in Karakura and keep it safe from the kind of crap that tends to show up here. I don't believe in letting any 'business' keep me from my duties to the people of this area, I hope you understand." The purple-haired lady said with a chuckle, wondering if he was naturally so composed, or if that was just a face he threw on whenever someone said something. 'Oh well, I guess I'll figure that out later', she thought to herself.

Motaro blinked in surprise at Akutore's words. She never lets business get in the way? So she never leaves Karakura? Could that mean.. He decided to actually ask his question as he was to curious to leave it alone.

"So the Overseers never have meetings outside of their own areas? Doesn't seem very efficient. Or did you mean business as in your actual job?" He was fishing for information but he didn't care. It was an important piece of information to take note of. As if in exchange for that information he continued to speak. "Personally, we Quincy almost always meet in this city when the Council meets. It has just been our tradition for centuries."

"I tend to sit out of the meetings if I feel like there's great danger in this city. If it's just normal danger, I'll leave it up to others, but if I feel a Menos coming and a meeting is scheduled, I'll just drop out. Levi here doesn't like it, says it's the only time we really get to talk with each other, but I don't care. Nothing will keep me from protecting this town." Akutore said with a chuckle, wishing that the Overseers would just have their meetings in Karakura as well.

"Well, that's what she says, at least. Sometimes, I think she doesn't want to see me." Levi grinned, expecting a punch to the shoulder from Akutore at any minute. "At any rate, I believe I've heard your name before, Motaro. You're the head of the Quincies, right?" Levi remembered because he had heard about the new Quincy leader around the same time he himself had become an Overseer. And now he was right in front of them. Not often something like this happens. I wonder where this will lead.

His arm was caught in a lock, and Takeshi was propelled upwards. This followed by him getting kicked several times. The kicks were so heavy that the last one made him cough up blood. He was then sent flying through a building, and then smashed into the ground. Hitting concrete with his back, shattering it, Takeshi’s face signaled that he was in quite some pain. He then saw both kido spells flying at him. Oh Shit! A large explosion thundered through the city and a building came down.

There was a lot of smoke and dust blocking the view. The captain still stood there, watching. Then, a shadow of a figure could be seen getting up. Although up close nobody was there to see it, but Takeshi looked horrible. The jacket and shirt were completely burned down on his chest and there was a large, bleeding burn mark. There was blood streaming from his mouth as well as top of his face. The only reason he survived that blast was because at the moment of impact he gathered all the Reishi he had into blocking. It seemed that he could barely stand. “Damn…the hell is wrong with me?” he mumbled breathing heavily “I really am getting worse…taking such a beating from a captain…was too arrogant and careless.” His back was towards the captain. He was a little more visible now. He raised his voice and now he sounded more serious then ever “My sincerest apologies, captain- san. Please forgive my arrogance up until this point.” He started raising his reiatsu “and please forgive my screwing around up till this point.” His reiatsu was now far above an average captain. He moved his left hand over his face “From now on…” something started forming on his face, but because Takeshi’s back was to the captain, he couldn’t clearly see what it was. The reiatsu kicked up even higher, but it felt so much different now. It was less that of a Shinigami, but more that of a hollow and could probably be felt in the entire city. Takeshi’s voice changed as well “it’s the real deal.” The reiatsu scattered and cleared all the smoke, and Takeshi turned his head to the side so he could see the captain. He had a mask on, so treacherously similar to that of a hollow, his eyes were black-gold, and in them could be seen the grim determination, the one will to murder. One second he was looking at the captain, in the next he vanished, only to be a blur behind the captain, with the sword being a blur, an inch away from the captain’s neck.

Sorva was almost at the garganta with six other surving hollows in tow. They would have already gone through it but they had to carry one of the most injured and even Sorva himself was having difficulty moving due to the damage he took from the captain. Luckily for them, it seemed that the Shinigami had lost their interest. One was busy controlling his squad, one had already left, and the third was still fighting the human/shinigami thing.

Suddenly they stopped their ascent as they felt the huge release of reishi. The explosion from Roga's attack shook the very air itself catching all of their attention. Sorva realized immediately that they had underestimated the captains. They had all known that the Captains were powerful, but they would have been annihilated if they had used attacks like that from the beginning.

"Whoever he was fighting must be dead by now." Sorva muttered. And then his eyes widened as he felt a new energy. The other shinigamis spiritual energy was still there. Not only was it still there, but it was becoming much larger then before. It no longer even felt like that of a shinigami.

"Its like one of ours." One of the hollows said amazed. They weren't sure what was going on but they knew they would get killed if they stayed near. With a large burst of speed the hollows and the menos made their way through the garganta, closing it behind them.

(Sorva exits to Las Noches "A King Angered.")

Slightly exhaling the Captain would sigh, and only watch. His guard still up yet he knew to never leave an opening. Unless one opened itself to you. Furthermore the Captain simply watched the smoke begin to clear. Even now he could see the outline of his opponents body. "So your still alive?" Tightening his grip on his blade the Captain was about to make another round of attack when he began to feel something, different. Now staring directly at the back of his enemy the Captain only watched his enemy stood with his back turn. "What could he be doing?"

His question was answered.

now looking directly into his eyes, to the Captain surprise, the eyes of a hollow reside. Not only that but a mask as well. His reiatsu even feeling more like a hollows. "So that's what he was hiding." before he was able to make a move his enemy was gone. For a simple millisecond the Captain lost him. Then felt the energy behind him. Turning his head the Captain would lock eyes with the hollowified man, before turning, and rising his blade. Blocking the sword, yet getting send rocketing into the city below.

Bursting from building to building the Captain tried to gain traction. Gather, and dispersing reishi to slow himself down, finally coming to a stop in a small shop some odd blocks away. Standing to his feet slowly the Captain would stagger a little bit. Breathing hard, a trail of blood paint across the right side of his face. Taking the time to look around the Captain laid eyes on a group of humans, a female, the male from before, and what appeared to be a Quincy. Standing to his full height the Captain would look up at his enemy. That hollow mask giving him unimaginable power.

"Mizuchi....It's time to get your ass in gear were in trouble."

Slowly stepping from behind the Captain a metal humanoid bird of some kind would appear from no where. Two red wings spread wide as it turned to the Humans, and had a look of disgust on it's. Now standing next to the Captain the hollow would speak in a irritated deep monotone.

"What the hell is that?"

"The enemy..."

"Then i guess you've had enough with your bull. Should have released before now, and ended this."

"Don't be so cocky."

"And the humans?"

"There strong. They can handle it."Sliding his left foot back the Captain would twist at the waist. The rest of his torn clothing ripping off, and falling to the ground. Leaving the Captain shirtless. Sheathing his sword the Captain would begin raising his own reiatsu. The sheer force creating a heavy blanket over the city. Exhaling deeply the Captain would draw his blade. Rotating it with one hand before it was in the underhanded position, and then stepping forward with his left foot. Keeping his right foot planted. "Shin! Mizuchi!"

Suddenly the pressure from before dead down. A sudden silence washing over the city. The Captain's eyes reiatsu vanishing completely. Not a sound. Stillness becoming home to this battle. Then...

More pressure

Just as quickly as the Captain released another pressure replaced the first. This one so thick it could block the airways. Making it harder ,for all the people in the surrounding area, to breathe. The stronger ones wouldn't feel as bad. They could take it. However the would feel slightly displaced for a short time. Then his unknown enemy from above could feel something. If he could still feel anything.
Drawing his sword back into a kendo stance the Captain would then begin swinging the blade violently in several lighting quick sweeps. So fast his arms turned to afterimages of themselves. Some would question his movements. Wondering why he would be swinging his sword with so much force, and gracefulness. What they didn't know was that with each swing the Captain would release a thin, and compressed wave of wind. Each one moving at an incredible rate. Cross the distance between the two seconds after being fired.

Then take another stance the Captain would begin gather wind around his blade, rising his energy slowly. Now being that of an elite Captain. The wind taking the shape of a tornado. Tho it was easily unfinished.

Motaro raised his eyebrows slightly. He was rather surprised that the Overseers knew that he was the Quincy Council leader. Obviously they had more information then he had originally expected. "Yes, I am the head of the Quincies, though that title doesn't mean too much. I just lead discussions during meetings and host them in my building. I don't have any extra powers besides that.

He looked behind him as he heard the sound of more fighting. "If you would like to speak more, we could go to my office and talk. Or to one of the restaurants nearby. Just is getting a little noisy with those guys fighting over there. Not even sure why they are battling." He glared at the two fighting beings. "There battle can't be good for the area around-"

He stopped in shock as Roga suddenly released his Kido. "WHAT IS THAT IDIOT DOING?" He shouted in horror as a tremendous explosion occurred, smashing an entire building down. "Aren't they supposed to be helping people, not destroying everything?"

"If there's one thing I've learned about the Soul Reapers, Mister Quincy, it's that they HAVE to destroy shit. If they're on a recon mission and are told not to let anybody know about their presence, they will destroy the building as they leave. It's an impulse to them, nothing is done unless it's caked in three feet of ash, buildings, and broken dreams." Akutore said with a nod, chuckling at how she had explained all of that. "Anyway, we should move, before he decides that he doesn't like this building either." She said quietly, already manipulating the reishi beneath her feet into a disk she could use to walk on.

Levi glared at Akutore. He made a note to himself to keep her from saying things like that in front of the wrong people. Though he was always jovial with his friends, he didn't want to make enemies with an entire race just because her mouth slipped.

But that was not the least of their worries. The captain and shinigami who had been fighting earlier were now releasing a ton of energy right now, and Levi was worried about how much damage they were causing to the buildings below them. "Should we do something to stop them? Maybe get that other captain to create a barrier or something?"

"I doubt he would do so anyways." Motaro said through gritted teeth. He wasn't sure where the other shinigami had gone, but they hadn't tried to stop the battle yet, so why would they start now? He had to admit that Akutore had a bit of a point that Shinigami tended to blow things up, even if they didn't mean to.

However, his thoughts quickly switched from annoyance to worry as something changed about one of the combatants. The one dressed like a human suddenly started to release huge amounts of spiritual energy. It didn't even feel like a shinigami's anymore, it was like staring at a ridiculously powerful hollow.

As if on instinct Motaro quickly make a large barrier out of reishi around himself and the two superhumans. He wasn't sure what was going to happen next, but it probably wasn't going to be good. However, he immediately turned back to the humans while still strengthening the shield. "Sorry about making that without saying anything. Just a habit of mine to make barriers when I sense high levels of energy."

He wouldn't be surprised if the lady started yelling at him about how he thought she was too weak to make a barrier on her own or something like that. Hopefully he could stop her from yelling at him about that at least by passing off as a habit, which it basically was.

"Don't worry, I'll even help out a bit." Snapping her bracelets together, Akutore completed her bow. Then, shooting several arrows at the ground beneath her feet, she made several barriers of stone, one layer outside and one inside the barrier. Following that, she also shot several arrows that would explode and form another layer, if they were needed. "There, those layers should keep us safe to, assuming your shoddy barrier breaks." She said lightly, chuckling as she took a jab at his skills. In her jest and her preparations, though, she hadn't noticed the rush of spiritual pressure. Despite her whole style of fighting relying on such things, she could sometimes forget to monitor them, and she could also be rather dense when such things increased in pressure.

The captain made several slashes at nothing, which might seem like he was showing off but…”Oi, what the fuck are you looking at?” Takeshi was behind the captain as he was making what seemed like a tornado on his sword. Wind huh? Thought so. The next moment his sword was speed at the captain with a horizontal swing. The captain moved out of the way, but was lightly nicked by the blade. The concrete got smashed up and another dust cloud formed. “You really thought I’d be that stupid?” He was coming in with another swing, this time diagonal. His eyes showed no arrogance, nothing at all. Nothing except pure, mindless rage.

What the hell is going on?! Levi watched as the person he thought was a shinigami release some seriously strong reiatsu that looked just like a hollow. "Who is this guy?" he asked himself. Is he a shinigami or a hollow? But right now, there wasn't much he could do. Motaro and Akutore had erected barriers to shield them from the ongoing fight, and Levi did not feel a great urge to leave that barrier. All he could do was watch as the two fighters smashed through buildings left and right.

Sighing lightly, Kurokotsu was stepping into the Senkaimon when he felt a large wave of spiritual pressure hit him. "That's from the unknown Shinigami...But it doesn't even feel like one. Tastes like Hollow...But he's fighting with Ranryou who had his limiter released. I doubt there's much research to do here, nothing that my Division isn't already working on. Time to go to the Archives, search for Shinigami-Hollow combinations..." He said with a sigh as he walked through the portal and it closed behind him.

With the release of Mizuchi his opponenet's speed was slightly decreased. Even if he didn't notice it Ranryou did. And that's what he needed. For him to get close enough to the point where even he, in this new form, couldn't dodge this attack. So with a grin Ranryou released. "Suzaku Raikan!" locking eyes with his enemy Roga made sure he didn;t see his blade. As with his back turned it was invisible to his enemy, but even with this tech it was used for split second decisions. In this tech reishi didn't build so it could be fired without being known. It was a move Ranryou himself used when nothing else worked. So jabbing his sword backward, and leaning forward Ranryou would take a large slash across his back, but left his opponent wide open.

Erupting from his blade a widening tornado blasted out. Taking the shape of a tornado, the wind swirled, and crossed the distance between them, which wasn't much. If caught inside Takeshi would be thrashed around, and slowly small blades within the tornado would slash away. Roga aiming mainly for the mask. As it seemed to be the source of his power.

Rolling forward the Captain would look to see if his technique worked. Behind his back the wind beginning to swirl.

The captain seemed to be willing to take his chances, since he was ok with taking Takeshi’s attack. In return, however, Takeshi was blasted by a tornado. As anticipated it started cutting away at him, but his reishi was more than enough to avoid injury. “Useless!” a short burst of reiatsu and the tornado was gone. For a moment he was standing there, in thin air, and in the next he was in front of the captain, with his palm on his face. He was aiming to smash the captain into the ground and jam his blade through his eye.

As expected the tech was easily broken. Due to the fact it wasn't fully charge the Captain was forced to fire the premature attack at only a fourth of it's strength. However it served another purpose as it bought him a few second of breathing room. Allow him to rise his power level. The moment his technique was broken the Captain knew his enemy would get close. So when a hand appeared before his face the Captain would begin a slam towards the ground.

During the fall the Captain would make a split second twist at his waist. bringing his legs down, and bending them at the moment of impact. Taking most of the force the Captain would let the force of motion build in his legs, till finally, only a half second later. The Captain would jump, spin, taking hold of his enemy's arm, and twist so he landed on his feet. Bending his enemies arm all the way back the Captain would use all the energy he had left to try, and rip that arm off. Followed by stabbing his blade into the hollows back. Targeting his soul chain, and soul sleep.

Takeshi’s arm was caught and the captain was about to make a fatal blow. “As if!” As the captain was about to make a thrust, Takeshi just strained his arm and sent the captain flying into the building. Halfway through however, he appeared in front of the captain, and from a spin, hit him with a drop-kick, making him move even faster, but in that same moment the captain managed to make a quick slash, giving a rather deep wound on Takeshi’s stomach. Half the building collapsed as the captain flew through it. On the other side just waiting for him, Takeshi made a timed, descending and very powerful vertical swing.

"Where the hell was all this power coming from?"

Before he knew it the Captain found himself flying through the air, causing him to smack into a building with quite a lot of force. Coming out the other side the Captain would himself leaving a bleed trial behind. looking up the Captain found his enemy high above, coming down with a drop-kick. Swinging his sword at the right moment the Captain got a great shot at the man stomach. His blade disconnecting from his stomach with a few blood stains decorating it's silver edge in his blood.

He couldn't go down like this. No he wouldn't allow it.

As he made his way flying out of the second building the Captain found himself faced with another problem. His enemy was coming down with another strike. Ranryou quicky swung his sword to block, yet added a very dense sweep of wind to take over half the damage off, then as they touched the wind would blow in the opposite direction, aimed behind Takeshi. The sheer force hopefully takingthe blade with it. Allowing the Captain to bounce off the force of the swing, and gain enough slowed down momentum to solidify enough reishi in the air to spin, and swing his sword in a horizonal sweep. Releasing another wide wave of air as he was thrown into another buidling. This time landing on his feet as it crumbled, and fell to the ground.

"Thankfully this whole area had been secured. No humans in site. Still......."

Looking up the Captain prepared himself. He couldn't fight like this forever. he would have o release bankai, or find away around that mask.

For a short while Takeshi was looking at the captain from above, then, pushing off with reishi, made a supersonic dive right at the captain. A very large dust cloud formed. But very shortly afterwards, Takeshi flew out and landed some distance away from the epicenter. He gripped his sword with the thumb opposite the blade and held it out. “Sorry mate…” energy started gathering at the fist “but this is as far as our fight goes.” A glowing, red ball of energy formed at Takeshi’s fist, and it was still growing. “Oh yeah, don’t take this to be the same level as that Adjucas before…” the red energy particles stopped going into the energy ball and it stopped increasing in size, now being as big as a basketball “this is many times greater in power.” In the next moment, a humungous beam shot towards the captain. The Cero then made a giant explosion that was definitely seen and noticeable from every corner of the city. A wave of wind went past Takeshi as he lowered his hand. “You see now what I meant when I said that we don’t need your help?”

A senkaimon opened above the city. Shit! More of em. Without any hesitation, Takeshi vanished from the scene. He appeared in a dark alley, few blocks away. He was breathing rather heavily. A large crack appeared on his mask. A shit. His mask crumbled. Overdid it somewhat I guess. He lowered his reiatsu to somewhat above human, just slightly higher and sheathed his sword. Well…that was fun. With a smirk on his face, Takeshi went on, walking around, minding his own business and keeping a low profile as usual. He did need to go to the hospital though, to bandage up his wounds, so he wouldn’t draw attention.

Zafaron immediately took notice of the destruction around him the moment the Senkaimon opened. But that thought was quickly dwarfed as he saw the injured state Roga was in. With a quick Shunpo he appeared at the side of his fellow captain. "Shit, looks like you took more of a beating then I expected. Must have been quite the enemy." He muttered quietly to himself.

"I am sure you have stuff you need to report Roga, but we are going to do that back in the Seiretei. We need to get you healed up." He gave the order in his "you-aren't-going-to-be-arguing-this" tone of voice. Probably Roga would want to either give his information right at that moment or more likely try to find whoever it was that did so much damage to him. The fact that he had even released his zanpakuto showed that it had been a tough enemy. However, Zafaron just wanted to get everybody back and wrap this situation up.

Must have been the Vizard that did this. Guess this is reason enough not to keep quiet about them anymore. He looked over where Kaiser and his group were suppressing some of the humans memories. "We are leaving now all of you. Finish any nearby ones as quickly as you and then leave for the Seiretei. We will close the Senkaimon behind you.

He proceeded to float back up to the Senkaimon. He expected Roga and the other Shinigami to follow him. If they didn't, well, he might just need to dropkick them through it.

Staring at the sky a blood coated Captain of the 2nd Squad only peered aimlessly into the sky. His attention diverted from reality itself one single thought in his mind. "I lost." Standing up from the concurrences of a hard fight the Captain would exhale several times before slowly leaping into the air. Heading towards the senkaimon with Mizuchi in his hands. It's blade returning, almost leaking from around his hands, and feet back into a sword. With a dry look in his eyes the Captain would disappear into the portal. He would find that man again. And next time he would kill him.
