The Assault

Yukus' jaw dropped once again. "How the hell did you survive that?" He asked quietly. He had expected to incinerate the human. If it wasn't for all the damage he had done, he would have just left at that moment citing that the human was invincible. But it seemed that the human was out of bullets, so it was finally time to kill him and eat his-

And now the Shinigami is shooting bullets. Seriously, what the fuck? He wasn't even sure how the Shinigami was doing it, but now there were a bunch of orbs flying towards the building. "Where are you aiming Shinigami?" Yukus yelled as the bullets flew towards the third floor. That mistake would cost the shinigami victory as now he could just charge up energy and fire some more attacks.

And then the building started to fall on his head. "SHIT!" Yukus yelled as he exited the building via the act of smashing a hole in one of the walls. The bullets were different before. They weren't as rapidfire but they blew things up which was just as bad.

He entertained the idea of going into close combat and then shook his head. He didn't know what the captain could do, but it was more dangerous to get close and actually deal with that sword.

Instead he jumped onto another nearby building calling two of the remaining hollows near him. He couldn't do another triple brand anytime soon, but they still had other tricks.

Levi watched as the captain attacked the hollow, using Levi's own technique to do so. "Hang in there, fella. Only a little more time." He took a couple of deep breaths, wincing as the wind blew across his open wounds. That is, if I can stay conscious until then.

Levi had only used this technique once before, so he was still inexperienced when it came to using it. Nevertheless, he felt pretty confident that when he used it, that hollow wouldn't be moving anymore

"You seem pretty banged up there, doll. Want some healing? I trained in the Fourth Division, and thus know some pretty decent healing techniques. They wouldn't make you good as new, but they'd keep you from toppling over at a moment's notice." Kurokotsu said with a slight grin. He honestly wasn't sure if this human could defeat the Hollow, even with his help, unless he released Bankai.

"I'd be much obliged, shinigami." Levi was really hurting from that triple cero thing, and he welcomed any form of relief. He was now done preparing his technique. He opened his senses, until he felt the hollow's energy in a building about two blocks away.

"Better get back, shinigami. You don't want to be blown away along with that hollow, do you?" With that, Levi crouched down, and his cannons brimmed with energy before releasing two missiles in a shower of light. Levi watched as they shot towards their target with blinding speed. "Le'ts see you block THAT, Mr. Hollow."

Kurokotsu nodded, having already done a backflip and landed behind the human. Once he was no longer in danger of getting blown to bits, he lightly placed his hands at the base of Levi's cannons and released his reiatsu slowly. As the green light poured out from his hands, it would heal the other man. "You know that Hollows can survive quite a lot of punishment? A couple rounds of bullets and a pair of giant missiles won't be enough, more than likely." He said softly, removing his hands from the other male as the healing ended.

Same thing as last time eh. Sorry…Takeshi moved back slightly, just enough for the strike to pass him by But that ain’t gonna work. He got at the same level as the captain and made a quick upper slash. It was easily dodged though, as anticipated. The captain shunpoued behind Takeshi and wanted to jam his blade through Takeshi’s spine, but he in turn, used shunpou to appear behind the captain. Tossing his sowrd from his right hand to his left, Takeshi made a horizontal swing, aiming at the head.

Kurokotsu however had underestimated the power of Levi's missiles. They quickly flew towards the three hollows giving one of the weaker hollows only a small amount of time to put up a large barrier. The hollows were only given a brief period of relief before the missiles exploded.

The barrier was annihilated in an instant taking out one of the hollows out immediately. The other was smashed flying with huge amounts of damage taken to its mask, leaving it close to destruction. Yukus hadn't taken as much damage due to the other two absorbing the majority of the impact. However, his right arm had still been torn off from the power of the missiles.

He screamed in agony for only a few minutes before clenching his teeth and focusing on his opponents. He was almost completely consumed by his rage but still knew that charging forward against a captain and the human would just get the rest of his limbs probably removed.

He smashed the ground next to him and through another piece of concrete. At the same time he sent ten balas at the human and the shinigami. He then started to fly back towards the garganta. He wanted to eat the human still, but he knew that he needed to recover his energy and fight a battle that he had a higher chance of surviving.

The Hollow was almost at the Garganta. It could almost sense the safety of the other world getting closer and closer by the second. It had at least survived this long, it probably thought it could exit the battlefield alive.

A swishing noise split the air as a large arrow streaked across the sky. Imbedding right into the hollows back, it knocked him forward for a minute. Yukus only had a second of confusion before he was suddenly dropping to the ground due to the added weight from the arrow. He wasn't sure what was going on, but something had gone wrong. There had been an unknown enemy the entire time.

Yukus looked out to see where the energy had come from. It wasn't the shinigami or the human. Sorva and his hollows were still fighting some of the other shinigami. And the Shinigami and the human? were also fighting. His gaze was cut off as he smashed into the roof of a building.

What he couldn't see was a human standing about a quarter of a mile away on top of a large office building. The human sighed as he took off his glasses and released his bow. He didn't really care about the battle going on, but he felt that the human and shinigami who had been fighting deserved a true victory.

Motaro then jumped off the skyscraper, using Hirenkyaku to dash forward from building to building. Since he had already involved himself, he was interested in seeing the ending.

Namakame growled as the feathers flew at him. He also noticed that the Adjucas was advancing, closing in with the feather shield. Namakame remember the puke that was covering it and figured that it wasn't anything he should be touching. Namakame dived back down into his shadow to avoid the feathers and then came back up behind the Adjucas, using an Alleyway's shadow for help. He then charged the darkness into his sword and sliced at the air in front of him, releasing a wave of Darkness at the Adjucas. He then concentrated on the wave, knowing that the first slice might not work as well and he'd need to be ready to bring the attack around again. He was also vaguely aware that he had been cut by the feathers thrown at him and his right shoulder and left arm were burning from the acid. Namakame made a mental note to go to the Infirmary after the battle.

Well this was interesting. Roga couldn't help but wonder how long this would take. They were both even as far as hand to hand skill, and he seemed to be able to keep up with his basic shunpo. However the battle wasn't quite finished yet.

Now with his enemy a few seconds from victory Roga only solidified the reishi on his feet, and used it to gain traction on the open air. Jumping, and twirling in a backflip. The blade cutting shallow across his left shoulder. Landing behind his enemy Roga twisted once again, and came around for a spinning roundhouse. Aimed for his back, armed with enough force to send the man crashing back down to the ground.

This one did hit him. Takeshi was launched once again towards the ground, and another crater formed on the street. Damn, at this rate there ain’t gonna be much of the area left. Takeshi then used his perception, to see who was around. The dust cloud provided the cover he needed. Damn. Several captains, that superhuman, a few hollows…that’s about it. No humans around, at least not around here. That’s a good thing I guess.

He then used shunpou to appear before the captain once again. For some time the 2 were just looking at each other. Then a grin showed on Takeshi’s face. Using a very fast shunpou, he appeared in front of the captain with his sword in full swing already. As the captain was about to parry this easily predictable attack, Takeshi was gone. Next moment, he was above the captain with a blur being his sword moving towards the captain.

A high-pitched laugh accompanied a flurry of red hot arrows, aimed straight at Yukus' Hollow Mask. The laughter, and the arrows, both belonged to the same person: A woman covered in black clothing, clutching a silver bow in one hand with the other drawn back as if ready to shoot another arrow. Watching the last of her arrows fly straight for the Menos, she blew a strand of dark violet hair out of her eyes and surveyed the situation. Shinigami everywhere, presumably a Quincy who set the Hollow up like that, and someone she was pretty sure was a fellow Overseer. "Very interesting..." She said, tossing her bow up into the air and holding her hands up, letting it transform on the way down back into a pair of silver bangles which she slipped on.

Yukus slowly through his head back and screamed as the arrows pierced his mask. He knew at that moment that all of his plans had been for nothing. They had underestimated the defenses of the city and it had cost them dearly. The futility of his actions weighed down upon him as his body disintegrated. He couldn't even think of anything cool for his last words. And with a final scream he disappeared into reishi.

Sorva looked to where Yukus was when he heard the hollows' final scream. He paled as much as his white mask allowed as he realized that the battle was lost. With Yukus dead, there was no way that he could continue on fighting. Even if he managed to kill the shinigami in front of him, he would still have to fight the humans that were approaching, the other shinigami captain, and probably some of the others that had crawled out of the woodwork.

He took the attack from the Shinigami, wincing as it left a huge gash in the front of his body. He sent more of his feathers out of his wings creating an extremely strong barrier around his body. He then quickly flew towards the garganta. He knew he would probably face the Primera's wrath for attacking without his say so, but perhaps his information about the strength of the shinigami and some of their techniques could save him. Regardless, there was no way he was going to survive against a shadow using shinigami, several other shinigamis, a freak with cannons for shoulders, and a crazy lady.

Kaiser dissipated the attack and let the Menos go. There would be another time, he supposed, to fight him. He had sensed a few other entities close by, some of them definitely not Shinigami. His squad immediately went to his side and saw the cuts and his skin burning from the acid.

"C-Captain! You're injured!" one of them exclaimed, "We'll get you to the medi-"

"No," Namakame said, "Your first priority is your duty. Start the memory wiping process."

"But... you're," the Shinigami stammered.

"Are you disobeying your Captain?" Namakame asked.

"No sir!" The Shinigami yelled and they split up to start the mass memory wipe. Namakame smiled as he resealed his Zanpaktou. He then walked off towards an alleyway and decided to patrol the town, making sure it would be safe... for now.

Ranryou stood high above the city. His eyes watching Takeshi, and his others senses focused on the area. Things were moving fine enough yet he hadn't figured what this guy was about. If he had a connection with the other human, with another seeming to appear as well, or the hollows. Then there was his reaitsu. It was dense, yet reserved. He was obviously hiding something. But for now he would continue to keep his guard up, and wait it out. If he could hold him off then the others would have more room to move. Then again even with them around the effects would still remain. he didn't want to hinder anything during this fight. He just hoped this guy continued with what he was doing. It was easy enough to keep up with, and so far he had only released 65% of his power. Then there was Mizuchi.

Looking up the Captain found himself staring at his enemy. For a while it was calm, and the two only watched. At this time the Captain knew something was up. After a failed attempt the Captain found himself in a spot. Looking up his enemy was above. His sword aimed to kill. Rising his own blade the Captain blocked the sword, and let it slide down his own sword. Stopping at the guard of his enemies weapon. Flicking his bade, and reversing direction the blades would now be parallel. Taking hold of his blade, now in the underhand, the Captain would shift direction once again, and twist his abdomen, gaining force, and speed. Swinging his blade at his opponents Midsection. be so close the Captain had hopefully finding his opening to end this fight,

The captain blocked and then made a very impressive counter attack. Takeshi was to get slashed in half, if he wouldn’t able to stop the undodgable attack. Just inches away from his torso, the blade stopped. “Damn, that was close.” Takeshi made a small grin. “But don’t forget, I still got my other arm.” With his bleeding left hand he was holding the blade. It sunk in quite deep but not even a quarter way, so Takeshi was not in danger of loosing his hand, at least not yet. Pushing the blade outward, he made a very fast swing, aiming for the head. Seems like this guy’s gonna get a bit more serious soon.

Rising his own hand the Captain caught his opponents. Holding it tightly the Captain only stared into his opponenets eyes. His eyes yelling out for him to hurry up, and die. "You really getting on my nerves. How long do you think you'll be able to continue getting away from me." Using his reishi once again the Captain made enough traction in the air to jump, and spin. Releasing his enemies weapon, and spinning around for another spin kick. This one much harder then the others. it was easily break whatever it came into contact with. Currently headed for his enemies neck, near the spine.

The captain made another spin kick. Not again. This one was a lot faster however. Takeshi could not dodge it completely. He moved back, so the kick missed the intended target, but he did get hit in the face. The blow was so powerful that it sent him flying, smashing into one of the taller buildings. He quickly got up from the ruble, rubbing his bruised cheek. Damn that was one hell of a kick. It was in fact powerful, and A little disorientating, but Takeshi recovered rather quick. Next moment, he was right next to the captain, his left arm in a position to perform a loriate. (that wrestling move that you do with your arm aiming at the dude’s neck)

Still he was coming with move so easy to follow and counter the Captain was truly getting irritated. As his enemy rised before him the Captain would rise his power level to 70%, catching his arm, and locking down on it. Not enough to break it but enough to leave it damaged. Then with a twist, and spin the Captain's leg connected with the mans stomach.

Letting go of his arm the Captain would continue the latter kick. Connecting with quite a few more, slowly lifting the foolish male higher, and higher into the air. Then with a baclfip, and spin the Captain delivered another kick. Sending him back into the said building he just came from. however this kick sent him straight through into another, and as he exited that one the Captain would be stand with his hand up. Quite a large amount of reishi gather in the palm of his hand.

"Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration,The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!"

Erupting from his hand first, Hadō #63. Sōren Sōkatsu, filling the whole city in a blanket of reaitsu, anyone around the fight could feel it's power, then only a half second later a Hadō #63. Raikōhō, both combing to form a massive yellow, and blue blast of energy. Aimed to send Takeshi to the netherworld.

Motaro's eyebrows narrowed as he saw several more arrows pierce the hollow, finally ending its struggle. The arrows weren't Quincy arrows, he knew that for sure. But they also didn't seem to be from any of the shinigami. And it was certainly no hollow attacking the menos, they would have eaten the menos rather than completely killing it.

He turned his head trying to track where the arrows had come from. At the same time he focused his sense, trying to find who the mysterious bow user was. After a minute of scanning he found who he was looking for.

It seemed she was a young woman who had used the bow. His realization that she was not a Quincy was confirmed instantly, he would know if any Quincy had hair that looked like some type of exotic bird. Logically she must be a Superhuman.

Motaro like most of the Quincies had had very little contact with the Superhumans after the Overseers were set up over thirty years ago. He personally had only met one before and it was only for a brief period of time before the man went back to Europe. Always thirsty for more information that could be used later, he debated with himself about talking to her.

Finally he decided that there would probably be little harm in speaking to her briefly. He might at least get some important knowledge about the current state of the Shinigami. He also had half a mind to speak to the other Superhuman, but didn't really feel like dealing with the Shinigami at this time.

Jumping off the building he landed across the street Akutore. He raised one of his hands in greeting. "Good afternoon."

Riding his earlier hollow Kazuki was being thrashed, and bucked around. Although he was about to stay aboard, and keep himself from falling. Quickly however the hollow burst through a building. Thinking it would be enough to take the shinigami down. What he didn't know was that the shinigami used his zanpakuto to cut down the pieces of building trying to crush him. Then stabbing the hollow again to make it go faster.

"Well, well, well. You're the one who slowed that Hollow down enough for me to shoot him full of holes, aren't you? Judging by your uptight manner and the purity of those arrows, I take it you are a Quincy? I guess that'd make us cousins by powers. You and I both use reishi arrows, albeit my powers extend beyond that, and also afford me more diversity in the range of arrows." Akutore said with a chuckle, hoping to anger this Quincy a bit. She always did like trying to piss people off, it allowed her to see how they controlled themselves, and how they felt about most other people. A rather nice experiment she thought, all without the target knowing a thing.

Huh, thought I'd kill that hollow outright. How'd it survive? Levi didn't have to worry about that for long. The hollow was soon showered with energy arrows before being finished off by a person with bows. Levi recognized the first series of arrows. Those are Akutore's. Where the hell has she been? However, Levi didn't recognize the other person. That looks like a Quincy; I should probably go meet him.

Again, Levi had heard about these different races, but he had never met a member of the races in person. He was curious as to what they were like in person. He turned to the captain who had helped him in the fight. "I'm much obliged for your assistance, shinigami. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go talk to someone." With that, he rushed over to where the Quincy and the woman were.

He approached Akutore and slapped her on the shoulder. "Akutore, I kind of missed you when I was fighting those hollows. Where were you?" Levi had arrived in time to overhear Akutore's barbed response to the Quincy. "Don't act like that; it's not very nice." Levi then focused his attention on the Quincy. "Pardon her, sir. I'm Levi Colton, and we're both Overseers. What's your name, partner?"

"Yeah, no problem..." Kurokotsu said with a smirk as Levi ran off, quietly watching him, molesting him with his eyes. "Dayum, he sure is sexy..." He said to himself once he was sure the hunk of a man was out of earshot. Shaking his head to rid himself of the lecherous thoughts, Kurokotsu requested that the Senkaimon be opened at his position so he could return to the Seireitei. Even though the fighting wasn't quite over, his enjoyment was.
